""The Brazil that plans and cares, It grows."
O Brazil has one of the greatest potentials in the world to lead sustainable development., combining a predominantly renewable energy matrix, high agricultural productivity, vast biodiversity, abundant water resources, and significant reserves of critical minerals. This natural and economic base creates opportunities to expand investments in bioeconomy, biofuels, low-carbon hydrogen, sustainable agriculture, restoration of degraded areas and nature-based solutions, ...strengthening new value chains and Brazilian competitiveness. By transforming its natural resources into innovation, income, and long-term development, the country can advance in the transition to a... low carbon economy, while protecting its biomes and expanding its presence in global markets.
Three pillars for a better Brazil competitive and sustainable:
- Protecting and restoring nature
Transforming nature conservation into development, with actions to restore ecosystems, reduce deforestation, and strengthen water security, biodiversity, and low-emission agriculture.
- Productive Transformation and Green Innovation
Leveraging Brazil's advantages to drive a low-carbon economy, with renewable energy, innovation, bioeconomy, and new sustainable production chains.
- Financing the transformation
Expand funding for the sustainable transition by strengthening green finance, the carbon market, and more efficient public investments.
For over 10 years, bringing sustainability to the forefront.
Since 2014, CEBDS has been publishing the Letter to the Presidential Candidates to contribute to the electoral debate and present proposals from the business sector for the sustainable development of Brazil. The first edition brought together 22 proposals focused on competitiveness, protection of natural resources, infrastructure, quality of life in cities, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. In 2018, the agenda was updated with 10 priority proposals, reinforcing themes such as renewable energy, efficiency, combating deforestation, green financing, sanitation, and inclusion.
In 2022, the Charter advanced with 12 lines of action linked to the climate and socio-environmental commitments undertaken by the country, maintaining its focus on competitiveness, job creation, reduction of inequalities, and leadership in the green economy. Now, in 2026, CEBDS continues this trajectory with a new edition, connected to current challenges and opportunities to transform sustainability, innovation, and care for nature into engines of growth for Brazil.
