The Brazilian Business Council on Sustainable Development (CEBDS) in partnership with WBCSD – a global network of which the council is part, in involved in the formulation of a new tool that intends to change the manner of how investors value companies and allocate financial capital. For CEBDS, business transparency is essential to the promotion of sustainable development and the Integrated Corporate Report is an important tool in this process. Currently the great majority of shareholders no longer allocates funds strategically to companies that do not adequately divulge the relevant risks to which they are exposed. In undertaking the exercise to gather data and practices, the company also initiates a global management program. In 2012, during the Rio+20, in a letter addressed to President Dilma Rousseff, CEBDS promoted the concept of mandatory publication of sustainability reports by the large public and private companies that operate in Brazil.
