Technical Note – What will be discussed at COP27

With the finalization of the rule book of the Paris Agreement at COP26, in Glasgow, the UNFCCC Secretariat should, at COP27, now in November 2022, continue to operationalize the Agreement. As will be analyzed in the text ahead, there are important processes underway, expected to end in 2023, to support global targets for adaptation, mitigation, transparency and global assessment, considering that, in 2025, the Paris Agreement provides for a new round of review of NDCs. Furthermore, gender and agriculture processes will also be assessed. Soon, Egypt's COP27 will be one of the last stages of evaluation and orientation in these processes.
