Held in Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon, the Conference symbolizes the transition from promises to concrete deliverables, inaugurating a new cycle in which mitigation, adaptation, and sustainable development must gain scale and become tangible. More than a forum for negotiation between countries, it will be a historic opportunity to create innovative financial mechanisms and expand investments in strategic sectors such as the bioeconomy, energy, and sustainable agriculture\u2014areas in which Brazil and Latin America are uniquely positioned to exercise global leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the Brazilian presidency of COP30 has reinforced the importance of non-state actors, such as companies, cities, and subnational governments, recognizing that, while nations develop public policies that guide the transition, it is often up to these actors to implement the solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this spirit, the Brazilian business sector is committed to making this Conference the most mobilizing in COP history. And, to materialize the many scalable initiatives already developed and led by companies, CEBDS structured Brasil de Solu\u00e7\u00f5es, a pioneering portfolio that brings together 135 high-impact socio-environmental and climate projects, led by 58 member companies representing 18 strategic sectors of the national economy. This set of initiatives covers key biomes such as the Amazon, Cerrado, and Atlantic Forest and demonstrates the private sector&#039;s capacity to accelerate the construction of a low-carbon economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consistency of this portfolio is evident: more than half of the initiatives adopt internationally recognized results measurement methodologies, such as the GHG Protocol, ensuring transparency and credibility. Furthermore, 79% of the projects are directly linked to emissions reduction, climate adaptation, and the generation of carbon credits. Brasil de Solu\u00e7\u00f5es, however, goes beyond mapping exemplary practices. It demonstrates how the business sector has integrated its commitments with corporate transition plans, Net Zero targets, and Sustainable Development Goals, fostering a collaborative ecosystem involving local communities, research institutions, and inter-institutional partnerships. This movement expands the scalability of actions and consolidates sustainable practices that, in essence, prepare the country to be a protagonist in the new green economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expectation surrounding COP30 is its potential to be remembered as the &quot;COP of action.&quot; The Conference presidency has emphasized that this will be the moment to move beyond the era of negotiation and truly usher in the era of implementation. It is in this spirit that business coalitions have been mobilized in unprecedented ways, under the leadership of CEBDS, demonstrating that commitments can and should translate into concrete results. More than 150 companies and representative associations are already part of these collaborative and pre-competitive fronts, which seek to accelerate the decarbonization of key sectors of the Brazilian economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the advances already achieved, the Transport Coalition consolidated goals together with more than 50 entities and submitted its proposals to the COP30 presidency. In parallel, other strategic fronts are underway, such as the Electricity Sector Coalition, which brings together 57 companies and 8 associations; the Essential Minerals Coalition, led alongside Vale and with the participation of 20 companies; and the Agriculture Coalition, which includes major global players such as Amaggi, Bayer, Nestl\u00e9, Syngenta, and Tereos. The result of this work will be the production of robust reports capable of identifying strategic opportunities and challenges and providing concrete input for national and international public policies, in addition to serving as a basis for the debates that will take place during the Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This joint effort reveals Brazil&#039;s ability to articulate a climate agenda that is not only ambitious, but also viable and high-impact, reinforcing CEBDS&#039;s role as a catalyst for the sustainable transition. COP30 should be seen not as a destination, but as the beginning of a new decade of climate action. It is an opportunity for Brazil to consolidate its position as a global leader in business, socio-environmental, and climate solutions, with a mobilized private sector ready to transform commitments into concrete results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Marina Grossi is president of CEBDS (Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development), an organization with 28 years of experience and 120 large member companies.
