But it can do more than that\u2014it can show the world how to produce while contributing to climate change. And, contrary to what many imagine, the solutions for this already exist. What was lacking was organizing this dispersed knowledge, scaling it up, and transforming it into policy. That is exactly what the Coalition for Decarbonizing Agribusiness set out to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Created by CEBDS \u2014 the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development \u2014 the initiative brought together 43 associated entities and companies \u2013 including AMAGGI, Bayer, Citrosuco, Nestl\u00e9, Syngenta, and Tereos \u2013 with the support of scientific institutions such as Embrapa, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Get\u00falio Vargas, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Dom Cabral, and the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP). The result: a report delivered to the Presidency of COP30 in October 2025, outlining 15 concrete levers for decarbonizing the Brazilian agricultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>What the study reveals is surprising, and for the better. Approximately 80% of the projected emissions reduction by 2050 can be achieved with practices that producers already know: no-till farming systems, integrated crop-livestock-forestry systems (ILPF), soil cover, recovery of degraded pastures, and increased herd productivity. This is not science fiction. It is applied agronomy, backed by decades of research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, these levers have the potential to eliminate between 500 and 600 million tons of CO\u2082 equivalent by 2050 \u2014 a decisive contribution to Brazil meeting its climate goals and establishing itself as a global leader in low-carbon agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But there is one obstacle that cannot be ignored: financing. The study points out that the transition demands a total volume of resources that existing programs are insufficient to cover. Although initiatives such as Plano Safra and Ecoinvest have the capacity to mobilize up to US$190 billion, the necessary investment is significantly greater\u2014and the identified gap exceeds US$100 billion. Closing this gap requires broad areas of action: catalytic capital, regulation of the carbon market, valuation of natural assets, and real incentives for those who adopt regenerative practices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that the path is mapped out. The Coalition delivered not just a diagnosis, but a roadmap for action \u2014 with financing, technology, and governance solutions ready to be implemented at scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For the private sector, the message is clear: companies that invest in bioeconomy and regenerative technologies are not just fulfilling a climate obligation. They are positioning themselves as leaders in a transforming market. Properties that are more resilient to droughts and floods mean lower operational risk. More sustainable supply chains mean access to increasingly demanding markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12th Letter from the COP30 Presidency, launched this year by Ambassador Andr\u00e9 Corr\u00eaa do Lago, reinforces that the moment calls for both formal negotiations and immediate action. The Agribusiness Coalition responds to both fronts: it supports the fulfillment of Brazil&#039;s climate goals and encourages, now, the voluntary adoption of practices that make a real difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next ten years, Brazil has a unique opportunity. It can be the country that proves it&#039;s possible to feed the world and, at the same time, be part of the climate solution. The map is drawn up. The fields are ready.
