The Solutions Network, led by economist Jeffrey Sachs, brings together different sectors (governments, companies, academia and civil society) to scale up solutions for sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea is to participate in this qualified forum in order to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs,\u201d said CEBDS President Marina Grossi. Starting in 2015, the SDGs will influence public policy guidelines and business investments worldwide in a similar way to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) since the 2000s.<\/p>\n<p>In May of this year, at an event in Rio de Janeiro, Sachs highlighted the proposal presented to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon with objectives and targets developed by the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network to help inform the debate on the SDGs, including the work of the UN High-Level Panel and the Open-ended Working Group on the SDGs established at Rio+20. The Leadership Council took into consideration proposals that emerged from the national and thematic public consultations organized by the UN Task Force, other processes and several reports released by civil society and research organizations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>End extreme poverty, including hunger;<\/li>\n<li>Achieve development within planetary boundaries;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective learning for all children and young people for life and livelihoods;<\/li>\n<li>Achieve gender equality, social inclusion and human development for all;<\/li>\n<li>Achieve well-being and health at all ages;<\/li>\n<li>Improve agricultural systems and increase rural prosperity;<\/li>\n<li>Enable inclusive, productive and resilient cities;<\/li>\n<li>Halt human-induced climate change and ensure clean energy for all;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure ecosystem services and biodiversity, and ensure the appropriate management of water and other natural resources;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The council will now be part of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, which advises the High-Level Panel of Famous People on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[36],"class_list":["post-22211","noticia","type-noticia","status-publish","hentry","category-institucional"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.6 -
