{"id":22307,"date":"2014-11-26T18:49:21","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T18:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cebds.org\/noticia\/geo-5-para-o-setor-de-negocios\/"},"modified":"2023-06-22T19:58:07","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T19:58:07","slug":"geo-5-para-o-setor-de-negocios","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/cebds.org\/en\/noticia\/geo-5-para-o-setor-de-negocios\/","title":{"rendered":"GEO-5 for the Business Sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Sao Paulo, November 26th<\/b> \u2013 With a focus on business leaders who are responsible for ensuring that risks and opportunities are understood, addressed and transformed into long-term competitive advantage for their companies, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the report <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">GEO-5 for the Business Sector<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>O <i>GEO-5 for the Business Sector \u2013 Impacts of a Changing Environment on the Corporate Sector<\/i> is a Brazilian adaptation of the publication \u201cGEO-5 for Business\u201d, launched in 2013 by UNEP. The original publication is an extension of the periodic report \u201cGlobal Environmental Panorama\u201d, but aimed exclusively at the business sector, emphasizing how environmental changes would affect business, risks for key sectors and opportunities arising from them. In addition to the translation of the publication, the Brazilian version includes case studies of large companies with national operations that exemplify the environmental impact on their strategies and how adaptation to this impact made the continuity of their businesses viable.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, five companies were selected to illustrate the new business challenges and opportunities for the 21st century: Alcoa, Cemig, Coca-Cola, Dow and Vale, which collaborated through interviews and access to reports and documents.
