The event addressed the system created by the new Forest Code, Law 12651\/2012, which innovated by establishing market mechanisms for compliance with environmental obligations of owners or possessors of rural properties in the State of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>Marina Grossi, president of CEBDS, was part of the opening panel and was responsible for moderating Panel I: \u201c<i>The environmental liabilities of the legal reserve in the State of S\u00e3o Paulo and the compensation institute provided for in the new Forestry Law\u201d.\u00a0<\/i> Also speaking on the subject were Mario Engler Pinto Junior, professor at the Get\u00falio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and former state attorney; Ricardo Rodrigues, professor at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (Esalq); and Plinio Ribeiro, CEO of Biof\u00edlica Environmental Investments.<\/p>\n<p><i>We must give due importance to the creation of initiatives and mechanisms that facilitate the environmental regularization of properties in the country, while at the same time helping to protect\/recover the forests that protect our water sources.
