These are the three main items on the agenda of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) at the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25), which runs until December 13<sup>th<\/sup> in Madrid, Spain.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to participating in events in debates focused on Article 6 \u2013 which deals with cooperation mechanisms to create a global carbon market, the last point of the Paris Agreement that depends on regulation \u2013 CEBDS leads the articulation for the Brazilian government to be more flexible at the Climate Conference and allow the country to move forward on this agenda. The Brazilian business sector expects the Brazilian government to accept the proposal for a safe transition from the current CO\u00b2 reductions that the country has already made during the Kyoto Protocol period. Last Tuesday (3), International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and CEBDS held the Business Dialogue on Carbon Markets and Article 6 Workshop at IETA Business Hub.<\/p>\n<p>Next Tuesday (10<sup>th<\/sup>) CEBDS will release the publication <strong>&#039;How Companies have been contributing to the Paris Agreement&#039;<\/strong>, a detailed study by CEBDS, with support from WWF-Brazil and CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Latin America, which shows how companies are integrating climate issues into their business decisions in Brazil and what is the joint impact that the business sector has been generating in the country. The study is based on the responses of 61 Brazilian and multinational companies operating in the country, which represents about 90% of the capital commercialized on the Brazilian Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday (11<sup>th<\/sup>), from 10:00 to 11:30 am, CEBDS, Climate Business Initiative (IEC) and Society and Climate Institute (iCS) will hold the panel <strong>&#039;Carbon Pricing Gaining Momentum panel in Brazil: Brazilian Industry Positioning on Article 6&#039;<\/strong>, in Brazil Climate Action Hub. On the same day, CEBDS, Arapya\u00fa Institute, Global Compact and Brazil Coalition, Climate, Forests and Agriculture will promote the side event <strong>&#039;Possible Amazon invites: Amazonian Business Initiatives&#039;<\/strong>. It will be at the Brazil Climate Action Hub, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>During the side event, the preliminary results of the business case survey conducted among the members of the Brazil Coalition, Climate, Forests and Agriculture will be presented; CEBDS; Ethos Institute; Arapya\u00fa Institute; System B; Brazil Global Compact Network; FGVces and Partners Through the Amazon (PPA), which directly or indirectly operate in the Amazon biome.
