The preparatory meeting for the new global agreement on nature conservation will be held there, with negotiators from 196 countries in attendance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CEBDS, which represents 85 companies and around 50% of national GDP, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will directly participate in meetings where international negotiations take place and hold bilateral meetings with the Brazilian government, as well as events with international partners. In recent years, the Council has worked directly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop Brazil&#039;s position, reinforcing the importance of the business sector as a solution for sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brazilian companies are committed to playing a leading role in and for the conservation of biodiversity through actions, projects, and initiatives that aim to comply with internal laws and voluntary targets and that will contribute to the achievement of global goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among its main actions, the Council will highlight the importance of ending illegal deforestation and reversing the loss of natural areas, favoring the sustainable use of natural resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBrazil is highly dependent on ecosystem services and biodiversity for a significant portion of its GDP, and has vast business opportunities in a nature-based economy,\u201d argues Henrique Luz, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">technical coordinator and leader of the Biodiversity Thematic Chamber at CEBDS.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&quot;The business sector&#039;s proposals will encourage businesses to generate positive impacts on nature.
