For the first time, the Southern Hemisphere will host the world’s largest event on water resources, the 8th World Water Forum, which will take place in Brasilia from March 18 to 23. CEBDS is the leader of the Forum’s Sustainability Focal Group, an innovation first implemented this year. As a leader, CEBDS will lead three major events during the Forum that will highlight the importance of sustainability in various actions and areas, and promote debates with key business leaders and disseminate the contribution of the business sector to good practices and technologies for water efficiency.
On the eve of the official opening of the event (03/18), CEBDS, in partnership with the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the Global Compact Brazil Network, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), CDP and CEO Water Mandate, will hold the Water Business Day, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at CNI headquarters in Brasilia. Also, at the Water Business Day, CEBDS and WBCSD will launch the Water Guide for CEOs. The document aims to show clearly to top management of companies the importance of having water as a central pillar of decision-making within companies
The high-level panel promoted by CEBDS will take place on March 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Águas Claras auditorium and aims to launch and promote a debate on the Brazilian business commitment to water security. During this session, high-level business representatives (CEOs and COOs) will present the objectives of the engagement as well as possible ways for companies to comply with it. At the time, CEBDS will also launch the Efficiency and Circular Water Economy Guide.
