The integration of regulated carbon markets can expand the scale of emissions pricing, strengthen trust in transactions, and direct investments toward low-carbon technologies and solutions. This publication presents the strategic role of the Brazilian Emissions Trading System (SBCE) and the Open Coalition for the Integration of Carbon Markets, highlighting the importance of harmonizing standards, interoperability between systems, and reducing market fragmentation. The document also demonstrates how this process can increase predictability for companies, unlock cross-border financing, strengthen international competitiveness, and support the implementation of Brazil's NDC and the Paris Agreement.
