Sustainable Finance

Mobilizing capital for sustainable investments is essential to enable the transition to a low-carbon economy.

About

The Ecological Transformation Plan (“Green Package”), currently being implemented by the Ministry of Finance (Brazil), presents an opportunity to improve the Brazilian economy based on principles aligned with a new economic paradigm, more sustainable, fair and inclusive.

CEBDS, through the Sustainable Finance TC, works to expand the debate on capital mobilization and connect strategic opportunities for sustainable investment. The TC also plays an active role in engaging the business sector in the construction of the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy, in promoting Corporate Transition Plans, and in articulating with strategic partners such as BNDES, IDB Invest and other relevant financial agents.

Goals

  • Support the structuring and implementation of sustainable taxonomy in Brazil;
  • Strengthen the technical capacity of associated companies to access and capture resources through mini-courses, workshops and strategic guides;
  • Promote the engagement of CFOs and financial leaders in the sustainable finance agenda;
  • Act as a “GPS” for sustainable financing, mapping opportunities and requirements for access to green and impact capital;
  • Create reference materials that bring together information on financing opportunities, regulatory requirements and trends in the sustainable finance market.
  • Represent the interests of the business sector in debates on regulatory frameworks and public policies for climate finance.
