In three meetings held in New York, the organization brought together companies, investors, financial institutions, and international partners to advance climate solutions with the participation of the Brazilian business sector.
The Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) held three meetings during Climate Week NYC 2026 in New York between September 21 and 23. The agenda connected discussions on climate finance, sectoral decarbonization, and capital mobilization for nature-focused projects in Brazil.
The activities were carried out in partnership with EY, We Mean Business Coalition, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Capital for Climate, with the participation of representatives from companies, financial institutions, investors, government, and international organizations.
Financial institutions discuss Brazilian contribution.
On the 21st, CEBDS and EY held the roundtable “From Financial Institutions to Climate Diplomacy: Brazil's Contribution to the Baku to Belém Roadmap”. The meeting brought together Brazilian and international financial institutions, companies, and government representatives to discuss financing mechanisms, risk reduction, and cooperation between Brazil and the United States.
One of the central themes was the implementation of Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T. The international initiative seeks to enable increased funding for climate action in developing countries, from both public and private sources, to at least US$1.3 trillion per year by 2035.
Representatives from Banco do Brasil, Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, Santander, the National Confederation of Insurance Companies (CNseg), EY, and the COP30 Action Agenda participated in the debate. Brazilian experience guides international coalition guide
On the 22nd, CEBDS, We Mean Business Coalition and BCG launched the practical guide “Sectoral business coalitions for climate action: scaling a successful model globally”.
This publication brings together lessons learned from the Brazilian experience and presents tools to support the creation and strengthening of business coalitions in different sectors and countries. The aim is not to establish a single model, but to share conditions, governance structures, and lessons learned that can be adapted to different contexts.
In the first phase, the Decarbonization Coalitions led by CEBDS mobilized more than 270 organizations in the transport, critical minerals, agriculture, and energy sectors. This work identified approximately 150 levers capable of contributing to the climate transition of these activities.
The launch brought together representatives from the We Mean Business Coalition, BCG, COP30 Action Agenda, Nestlé, National Business Initiative, Motiva, Vale, and CEBDS, as well as other business leaders.

Brazilian projects of a sustainable nature are presented to investors.
The program concluded on the 23rd with the meeting “Where Capital Will Flow Next: Scaling Corporate-Sponsored Nature Opportunities in Brazil”. Organized by CEBDS in partnership with Capital for Climate, with support from BNP Paribas and sponsorship from Nestlé, the session brought together international investors and companies responsible for projects in Brazil.
Opportunities related to restoration, regenerative agriculture, sustainable supply chains, carbon, bioeconomy, and natural capital were presented. The discussion also addressed how business involvement can help structure projects, reduce risks, and make them more attractive for investment, partnerships, and co-financing.
Participants included representatives from Vale, Biomas, and Citrosuco, as well as Viviane Behar de Castro from VB Connect, and Lucas Grilo, Senior Manager of Sustainable Finance and Circular Economy at CEBDS.
