O VI International Sustainable Congress 2013 – from Vision 2050 to Action 2020 – held by CEBDS on September 24th at the Tom Jobim Space in the Botanical Gardens, Rio de Janeiro – highlighted the Brazilian business sector's agenda for sustainable development. With the Action 2020 project, the Council aims to structure this necessary agenda to respond to the demands of society's priority areas, defined by experts and anchored in science, over the next seven years.
With the participation of more than 550 people, including businesspeople, government and civil society representatives, and sustainability experts, the event raised questions and reflections related to global governance, financing and investments aimed at companies that promote sustainability, and the challenges of cities as catalysts for this transformation.
The event, which began with an artistic performance by actress Clarice Niskier – protagonist of the play “A Alma Imoral” (The Immoral Soul), featured four panels in a talk show format and concluded with the results of the first edition of the Business Partnership for Ecosystem Services (PESE).
