Marina Grossi, president of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), participated in a debate on the energy situation in Brazil on November 12 in São Paulo, discussing the challenges and opportunities for the future of our country. The meeting was promoted by National Geographic and Shell, which are partners in the Great Energy Challenge, which brings together experts from around the world to discuss energy issues.I would like to draw attention to the climate negotiations. I think there is a missing link between the gravity of climate change and what its implications are. If the whole country takes the carbon issue seriously, the energy mix must be included in the planning. This is limited in certain places… in the Government, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but there is no consensus in society”, Marina said during her participation in the debate. Participants also recognized the need to learn from past mistakes and move forward in the face of current problems, as well as the urgency to address widespread inefficiencies in the country’s energy sector. In São Paulo, the discussion took place around the panel “In Search of Energy: What will be the future Brazilian energy scenario?” moderated by Paulo Sotero of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
