On April 9th, in São Paulo, CEBDS held the first stage of its Sustainable Procurement training for the business sector. Aiming to translate the languages of sustainability and purchasing and supply between these areas, the training seeks to effectively internalize sustainable development concepts in the purchasing and acquisition processes of large Brazilian companies.
The presentations introduced concepts of sustainability, purchasing, risk management and business, as well as international case studies and contextualization of the Rio 2016 purchasing process – which already uses the methodology developed by CEBDS last year.
Representatives from Braskem, Bradesco, Grupo Abril, Grupo Boticário and Schneider Electric were present, as well as guests from Rio 2016 and EY, the consultancy firm supporting the project.
The training will now continue individually, in each of the participating companies (in addition to those already mentioned, Grupo BB Mapfre and Itaú have also confirmed their participation), where the concepts will be addressed again for the entire sustainability team, buyers and sellers of these companies, in addition to there being, later, a pilot project of a purchase with the monitoring of CEBDS and EY.
