  • Posted in 26/06/2024

The DIB Invest 2024 Sustainability Week, held from June 11th to 13th in Manaus, Amazonas, was marked by the active presence of CEBDS representatives.

Juliana Lopes, Director of Nature and Society CEBDS, participated as a panelist in the panel “Challenges and Opportunities in the Implementation of Due Diligence in Human Rights (HRDD)”. Beside Angela Miller, Head of the ESG division at IDB Invest, and Rafael Benke, CEO of PROACTIVA RESULTS, Juliana discussed the common challenges and opportunities that companies face when adopting HRDD processes.

Several associated companies, such as Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, Santander Brasil, BNDES, Banco da Amazônia, Natura, Mercado Livre and BNP Paribas, were present, demonstrating the strength and influence of the private sector in promoting sustainable development.

The event, organized by IDB Invest, brought together more than 800 global leaders in person and 10,000 virtually.

The meeting highlighted fundamental themes such as Impact Investment, Climate Change, Inclusion and Bioeconomy. Over the three days, business and government leaders and global experts shared ideas and best practices to address critical challenges such as climate change, poverty and inequality, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.
