  • Posted in 13/02/2025

Transparency and corporate responsibility are increasingly crucial topics on the agenda sustainable development, driven by growing demands from investors, consumers and regulators for clear and reliable information on the environmental, social and governance impacts of companies.

To strengthen this transformation, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) and the Report Group present the second edition of Reporting Matters Brazil, a report that analyzes and guides the evolution of communication about sustainability in the country.

At the launch event, which will take place on the day February 25th, online on our YouTube channel, experts from CEBDS and Grupo Report will meet with representatives from Assaí, Banco do Brasil, Eletrobras, Eneva and TIM for an exclusive debate on industry innovations and ways to improve corporate transparency in Brazil. The conversation will address how sustainability reporting can boost businesses aligned with green economy and to transition to a low carbon future.

Based on a methodology consolidated for over 10 years by World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and by Radley Yeldar, the study examined more than 10,000 pages of 74 sustainability reports of large Brazilian companies. The objective is to outline a detailed overview of best practices, challenges and trends in corporate reporting, an essential factor in ensuring credibility, attractiveness for investors and alignment with global ESG standards.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the main trends and methodologies in sustainability reporting and discover how companies are preparing for a more responsible and transparent future.

Reporting Matters Brazil 2023

Last year, the unprecedented edition of the Reporting Matters Brazil report analyzed 77 reports, through a team of 17 consultants, who dedicated almost 800 hours to examining more than 9 thousand pages.

The reports were thoroughly evaluated using the Reporting Matters methodology, considering 16 criteria and 81 subcriteria. The result was a report of over 40 pages on the overall results of the companies analyzed.

What is a sustainability report?

One sustainability report is a strategic document that transparently presents a company's environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. It gathers detailed information about the organization's initiatives, impacts and commitments regarding sustainable development, allowing investors, consumers and other stakeholders to evaluate its practices and progress over time.

In addition to meeting increasing regulatory and market demands, these reports help companies identify opportunities for improvement, reduce risks and strengthen their reputation. Adopting recognized methodologies, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ensures greater credibility and comparability of information, making reporting an essential pillar for building more responsible businesses aligned with global sustainability goals.
