The energy that drives Brazil, today and tomorrow.

By Ernesto Pousada, CEO of Vibra

At Vibra, we are building, step by step, an energy transition with a Brazilian identity, based on efficiency, innovation, and a commitment to sustainable development. Our role is clear: to bring the energy that Brazil needs, today and tomorrow.

COP30 will be an important milestone for Brazil to reaffirm its relevance in the global debate on energy and sustainability, demonstrating how it is possible to reconcile economic growth, energy security, and environmental responsibility. Our country has unique conditions to advance on this path, with a diversified energy matrix and one of the largest shares of renewable sources in the world, which allows us to evolve gradually, consistently, and adapted to our reality.

As the largest distributor of fuels and biofuels in the country, Vibra plays an essential role in this progress. Our commitment is to contribute to an efficient and realistic energy transition, strengthening infrastructure, expanding access to energy, and driving solutions that combine competitiveness and sustainability. This vision is supported by a solid strategy, structured around five avenues of growth: consolidated leadership in service stations, expansion of B2B offerings, strengthening the Lubrax lubricant brand, investments in logistics and infrastructure, and expansion in the renewable energy market, always focusing on sustainable returns and long-term value generation.

These pillars translate into concrete actions. We have already invested over R$ 7 billion in renewable energy, including the full acquisition of Comerc Energia, a leader in innovative energy solutions and decarbonization. With this integration, we have expanded our capacity to offer clean, efficient, and competitive energy to clients in all sectors, such as industry, agribusiness, mining, and aviation, consolidating a business model aligned with the energy transition and the generation of sustainable value.

For us, fossil fuels, biofuels, and solar energy do not compete with each other. They form a complementary matrix that guarantees energy security, competitiveness, and reduced emissions. The energy transition is not about substitution, but about integration. The "or" gives way to "and." In this context, we invest in biofuels such as corn ethanol, which strengthens supply in the Northeast, and in innovative initiatives such as SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), marketed by Vibra in a pioneering way in Brazil, with full traceability and the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%.

Vibra has a clear commitment to reducing emissions in road transport as well. Today, we distribute diesel with 15% biodiesel, as mandated by Brazilian regulations, and we are already prepared for the arrival of B16 in 2026. We are investing heavily in the development and distribution of Renewable Diesel, also known as HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). We already use this product in our fleet refueling operations at Galeão and Guarulhos airports, and we have a partnership with Volkswagen Trucks and Buses for the supply of Vibra Renewable Diesel for the initial refueling of all trucks and buses produced by the brand in Brazil.

At COP30, Vibra and Comerc will be present showcasing the multi-energy platform. Comerc will be responsible for the carbon offsetting of Casa Brasil, a space dedicated to debates and connections. The venue will also house the "Inconvenience Store," an initiative of the Zero Sexual Violence Movement—led by us, Childhood, Mulheres do Brasil, and Instituto Liberta—which promotes awareness about protecting children and adolescents against sexual violence. We will also offset the 11,000 tons of CO₂ emitted by the Global Citizen Amazon Festival—an international mobilization event to end extreme poverty—through carbon credits issued by our Bon Nome solar complex. These initiatives reflect our conviction that the energy transition must be environmental, social, and inclusive.

A concrete example of this approach is the project we carried out in the Pykany Village, located in the Kayapó-Menkragnoti Indigenous Territory, in southwestern Pará. The initiative implemented 35 solar systems with batteries in the village, supplying homes, school, and health post with clean energy, benefiting more than 130 people. The project shows that bringing renewable energy to remote communities is viable, sustainable, and transformative, an essential step towards an energy transition adapted to the Brazilian reality. The future of energy will be plural. Combining different sources, technologies, and models is the path to a safe, inclusive, and balanced transition. Vibra believes in this balance between the present and the future, between the energy that moves and the energy that transforms. With a presence throughout the national territory, we remain committed to bringing purposeful energy, in all its forms, to the whole of Brazil.
