Private sector initiatives CASE, CEBDS and SB COP present climate solutions to the COP30 Presidency

  • Posted in 19/11/2025

The document “Brazil: A Country of Climate Solutions for Climate, Nature and People” brings together mature and scalable proposals to support Brazilian climate implementation until 2026.

Belém, November 18, 2025 — A set of climate solutions developed by the Brazilian private sector was delivered today (18) to the president of COP30, André Corrêa do Lago, Ana Toni, CEO of the conference, and Marina Grossi, special envoy for the private sector, in Belém (PA). The document, entitled “Brazil: a country of climate solutions for Climate, Nature and People”, was prepared by the three main business collectives that have been structuring concrete proposals for the climate agenda: CASE (Climate Action Solutions & Engagement), CEBDS (Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development) and SB COP (Sustainable Business COP30).

More than 800 impactful projects were mapped, and 144 were pre-selected for analysis. The material systematizes solutions already implemented and considered mature – and, in many cases, ready to scale – with the aim of supporting the COP30 Presidency in defining priorities and mobilizing actions for implementation during the cycle until 2026. The initiative reinforces the international expectation that Brazil will present concrete examples of a just, efficient, and economically viable climate transition.

Ten mature and scalable solutions will be selected by the end of 2025 for implementation by November 2026. CASE, CEBDS, and SB COP will remain involved in the technical monitoring and coordination necessary to ensure traction for the final package.

Three priority areas for implementation.

CASE, CEBDS, and SB COP submitted their solution frameworks to a curation process conducted by Accenture, which identified three common areas considered best suited for rapid national and global expansion, as they combine technical soundness, rapid impact, and great potential for mitigation and adaptation, in addition to generating socioeconomic benefits and strengthening strategic production chains: regenerative agriculture, biofuels, and forest restoration.

Regenerative agriculture: regenerative practices to improve soil, productivity and product traceability; increased carbon sequestration and productivity with tropicalized agriculture; Special credit offer for producers to recover degraded pastures and expand production without deforestation, subject to environmental offsets.

Biofuels: biomass gasification to decarbonize industrial sectors and generate carbon credits; vehicle electrification and logistics modernization to reduce emissions.

Restoration: scalable ecological restoration with integrated business models; development of ecological corridors for conservation, with techniques for restoring native forests and productive areas; and conservation of native forest with a multiple-use model and generation of carbon credits.

Brazil positions itself as a powerhouse in climate solutions.

The convergence between CASE, CEBDS, and SB COP reinforces the country's capacity to articulate innovation and multi-sectoral collaboration, with COP30 providing an opportunity to showcase Brazil to the world as a global power in climate, nature, and sustainable development.

Statements

CASE, an initiative led by Bradesco, Itaúsa, Itaú Unibanco, Marcopolo, Natura, Nestlé, and Vale:

“CASE was created to show the world that the Brazilian private sector already has mature, concrete, and scalable climate solutions – and that Brazil has much to contribute to the new green economy. Our commitment is to articulate, give visibility to, and accelerate initiatives that are already happening in the country, connecting actors and overcoming barriers. By mapping projects through the Solutions Scanner, by promoting dialogues such as the CASE House at COP30, and by aligning with the Climate Action Agenda of the Brazilian presidency of COP30, we reinforce the central message: Brazil is a “breeding ground” of climate solutions, ready to scale, capable of boosting economic development, protecting nature, and generating value for people.”

“CEBDS (Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development) has assembled a portfolio – called “Brazil of Solutions” – with 135 projects covering 18 sectors of the economy, in all regions and biomes of the country, in six priority areas for Brazil: Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Transportation, Energy, and Essential Minerals. We also lead sectoral coalitions for decarbonization in these same areas, with 260 business entities. This is a tangible and relevant contribution from the business sector to the climate agenda. The convergence with CASE and SBCOP reinforces that the only business model to accelerate climate solutions is collaboration,” says Marina Grossi, president of CEBDS and Special Envoy of the Private Sector to COP30.

“The great differentiator of the SB COP is its scale. There has never been such a broad mobilization of the private sector around the climate agenda. In an international scenario marked by geopolitical instability, it is even more urgent that companies unite. This collective effort is what can transform local solutions into global impact,” points out the chair of the SB COP, Ricardo Mussa.

About CASE.
CASE (Climate Action Solutions & Engagement) is an initiative articulated by Bradesco, Itaúsa, Itaú-Unibanco, Marcopolo, Natura, Nestlé, and Vale with the objective of positioning Brazil as a protagonist in the global climate agenda and the Brazilian private sector as a facilitator of solutions to global climate, nature, and people challenges. It is a collective and collaborative initiative that seeks to highlight concrete initiatives already underway in Brazil with the potential for international scaling. CASE promotes qualified dialogues, strategic articulation, and multi-sectoral mobilization, reinforcing the country's image as capable of reconciling economic development with sustainability and social justice. Throughout 2025, and with the intention of further developments until 2026, we will seek to contribute to a lasting legacy for the Brazilian presidency of COP, strengthening the Action Agenda and advancing the overcoming of barriers that still limit transformation on a large scale.

About SB COP

The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) leads the Sustainable Business COP30 (SB COP), a global business alliance launched on March 10th to strengthen the participation of the productive sector in UN climate negotiations. Representing nearly 40 million companies, the coalition brings together national and international leaders and draws inspiration from models such as the G20 and BRICS to present private sector recommendations to the COP Presidency and the Brazilian government.

As part of this effort, SB COP launched a public call that received over 670 proposals from companies in more than 60 countries. After evaluation, 48 outstanding cases were selected, coming from at least 14 nations. They demonstrate in practice the transformative potential led by the private sector: in Pará, forest regeneration initiatives unite communities, investors, and buyers; in Vietnam, young people specialize in renewable energies; and in Stockholm, an entire neighborhood was designed to operate without carbon emissions. Brazil stood out with 19 initiatives, consolidating its position as a protagonist in building climate solutions and on the path towards COP30.
