Biofuels in the Perspective of Transition to Regenerative Landscapes and Biodiverse Production Models

The expansion of biofuels can contribute to the decarbonization of the Brazilian economy while strengthening the bioeconomy, restoring degraded landscapes, and valuing biodiversity. This policy brief analyzes how the principles of Regenerative Agriculture can be incorporated into both conventional systems and innovative biofuel production models, exploring different biomasses, technological routes, and opportunities in biomes such as the Cerrado, Caatinga, and Amazon. The publication also presents public policy recommendations focused on information management, promoting regenerative practices, energy recovery from waste, developing new biomasses, and incentivizing advanced biofuels, contributing to a low-carbon, competitive energy transition aligned with the National Bioeconomy Strategy.
