September 5th, Amazon Day

  • Posted in 05/09/2024

Recent forest fires in the Amazon have carried smoke from the fires to several states. High temperatures and low humidity are putting the entire country on alert and demonstrating the urgent need for actions to protect the forest.

On this September 5th, Amazon Day, it is essential to reflect on the challenges faced by the region, especially with the advance of fires that threaten the biome.

At CEBDS, the Amazon Working Group (GT) focuses its efforts on raising awareness and engaging the business sector in the socio-environmental preservation and sustainable development of the Amazon rainforest, a mission that becomes even more urgent in the current context.

Recognizing the complexity and sociocultural diversity of the region, the WG emphasizes the importance of collaboration between all social sectors to achieve preservation and sustainable development.
