Delivering the Brazil Solutions portfolio and leading multi-sector coalitions for decarbonization are CEBDS' priorities in the countdown to the Climate Conference in Belém, Pará.
With 100 days to go until the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), the Brazilian business sector takes a new step towards consolidating its leadership in the sustainable development agenda with the launch of the Brazil of Solutions, an unprecedented initiative of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) which brings together 135 initiatives from 58 associated companies from 18 sectors of the economy.
Focusing on forests, energy, industry, agriculture, livestock, and infrastructure, the initiatives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 851 TP3T of them follow the UN targets, 811 TP3T have proven impact, and more than half directly involve local communities. The forestry sector leads in number of projects (331 TP3T), highlighting the country's leading role in nature-based solutions.
Structured on three fronts, Brasil de Soluções encompasses a living database of initiatives from different sectors, aiming to accelerate the country's implementation agenda. The initiative includes mapping financing opportunities with institutions willing to invest in the implementation or expansion of projects, sharing solutions among CEBDS member companies to learn about and adopt high-impact solutions, and providing visibility to initiatives at the COP for internal and external stakeholders, reinforcing that Brazil and its business sector are a source of climate solutions for the world.
"The initiative is part of a broader effort by CEBDS to strategically mobilize the sector, enable matchmaking with financing opportunities, and foster connections that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, inclusive, and regenerative economy," says Marina Grossi, president of CEBDS and Special Envoy for the Business Sector at COP30.
Presented during the CEBDS 2025 Sustainable Congress, Brazil of Solutions will be delivered to the government at COP30. Before that, a preview will be presented to COP30 Climate Champion, Dan Ioschpe, at an event with CEOs in CEBDS Leadership Council, on August 12th, in São Paulo.
"We enter these 100 decisive days with the conviction that the Brazilian business sector has not only the capacity, but also the commitment to accelerate the implementation agenda," concludes Marina.
The CEBDS Leaders' Council plays a strategic role in connecting the private sector and public authorities. Created from the Rio+20 developments, the forum celebrates its 10th anniversary as a catalyst for tangible proposals for a new low-carbon economy. It was at one of its editions, for example, that the president of COP30 called on CEBDS to lead the coalition agenda, another important front for the productive sector at COP30.
Coalitions on strategic axes
With a focus on implementing concrete actions, the CEBDS leads multi-sector coalitions for decarbonization strategic sectors such as transportation, energy, agriculture, and essential minerals — aligned with the strategy defined by the president of COP30, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago.
A transport coalition, for example, has already delivered a plan with 90 proposals to reduce emissions of the sector and attract R$ 600 billion in green investments. In agriculture, CEBDS works together with the WBCSD and the BCG, via the Landscape Accelerator – Brazil (LAB), to foster the regenerative transition in the Cerrado and Pará. Soon, new coalitions on energy and strategic minerals will be launched alongside major industry entities.
In the coming days, CEBDS will announce new coalitions: essential minerals, alongside Vale, and electricity, with ABRADEE, ABRATE, ABEEÓLICA, ABRACE, ABIAPE and ABIAGE. "Decarbonizing strategic sectors is essential for Brazil to meet its climate goals and advance toward a low-carbon economy with environmental, social, and economic gains," says Marina. "And these initiatives combine multisectoral engagement, technical support, and a focus on execution, aligning the business sector with the climate ambition of COP30," concludes the CEBDS president.
