The meeting between Marina Grossi and Dan Ioschpe took place today (14), in São Paulo, and focused on the role of the business sector in the preparations for COP30
The president of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), Marina Grossi, met this Monday (14), in São Paulo, with Dan Ioschpe, recently appointed High-Level Climate Champion of COP30, and Jennifer Austin, Director of Strategy and Policy of the Climate Champions Team – an international group of experts that supports the Climate Champions.
At the meeting, opportunities for joint action were discussed, continuing the work that CEBDS, as a representative of the Brazilian business sector, in partnership with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), has already been carrying out alongside other COP30 leaders, such as the Conference President, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, and the Executive Director, Ana Toni.
The meeting reinforces CEBDS' commitment to building bridges between the business sector and the leaders of the event that will be held in Belém (PA), in November, promoting concrete and scalable solutions towards a low-carbon economy.
“Dan Ioschpe has a solid background in the industrial sector and has demonstrated, during his leadership of the B20, great ability to build bridges between the business world and governments in spaces of international dialogue. This track record will be essential to promote concrete and ambitious progress at COP30, and we are happy to work alongside him, contributing with our extensive experience in the UN Climate Conferences and in promoting sustainable development”, said Marina Grossi, president of CEBDS.
As High-Level Climate Champion, Ioschpe will be responsible for bringing to the COP30 negotiations the demands of actors who do not have a say in decisions, such as civil society, academia, subnational governments and the business sector, promoting greater integration and multi-stakeholder dialogue on the global climate agenda.
