Knowledge Notebook on Human Rights and Business

On August 23, 2022, CEBDS held the webinar “The Change in the Legal Scenario and what it means for business in Brazil”, which was moderated by Henrique Luz (CEBDS) and the participation of Sophia Reyes, Director the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights (GBI); Fadwa Mohamadieh, Corporate Responsibility and Human Rights Manager at Hydro; Clara Passe Pinto Serva of Tozzini Freire Advogados and Simone Rocha Pinto, Advisor for Latin America at GBI.

An overview of recent regulatory acts in Europe on Human Rights was presented, highlighting the European Union proposal on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, in addition to presenting the Brazilian scenario on the subject and the possible impacts of the new European directive for companies companies, with the participation of Hydro, which shared its experience.

The event is part of a series of webinars that the Thematic Chamber of Social Impact (CTSocial) of CEBDS is organizing on changes in the legal scenario in Human Rights and how this will affect companies. The upcoming events will address the theme of human rights and the value chain, with the presentation of practical examples on the subject, as well as discussions on working hours and living wages.
