Urban mobility is a central focus for the decarbonization of the transport sector, especially in a country where most of the population lives in urban centers and there is still a strong dependence on individual motorized transport. The executive report presents the main findings of the Transport Coalition for this vertical, analyzing travel patterns, differences between city types, and emission reduction levers organized around the axes of Avoid, Shift, and Improve, which include urban planning, strengthening public transport, active mobility, intermodality, biofuels, and low-emission vehicles. The publication aims to support public policies, investments, and business decisions capable of making Brazilian urban mobility more integrated, efficient, and low-carbon by 2050.
