CEBDS and the University of Cambridge are bringing the Business and Sustainability Program (BSP) course from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to Brazil again. Created in 1994, BSP has already inspired the development of many similar programs and initiatives around the world, having educated more than 2,000 leaders. The first edition of the course featured lectures by professionals such as Fábio Barbosa (CEO of the Abril Group), Fábio Feldman (sustainability consultant) and Philippe Joubert (senior advisor at the WBCSD) and had the participation of 28 professionals from 27 companies such as Votorantim, Itaú, Ambev and Braskem. The most representative sector in the course held in Brazil was Energy, with 25% of those present.
Focused on leaders from the business, government and civil society sectors, it seeks to engage leaders and make them understand the strategic implications of sustainability risks and opportunities for business and for the value of companies. To compose a balanced group of executives, participants will be selected from different areas of the organizations (HR, Strategy, Finance, R&D, Production and Sustainability). This balance is fundamental to the learning model: exposing leaders to the ideas and solutions presented by sustainability professionals and challenging sustainability leaders by putting them in touch with the reality and business experiences presented by leaders from other areas.
The group of participants is usually composed of business leaders and senior executives, representatives of different government instances, International Agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations.
