Over two days, 36 professionals from 23 companies (Natura, FGV, Malwee, Vale, EY, Grupo Boticário, Plantar Carbon, Tetra Pak, Adidas, Votorantim Cimentos, Klabin, Braskem, Cedae, Caixa, Grupo Abril, Petrobras, CCR, Ipiranga, Acelor Mittal, KPMG, 3M, Embrapa, and Brasil Kirin) gathered to deepen their understanding of the LCA tool. "We want to provide more information to help understand the tool and, therefore, incorporate sustainability concepts into companies' strategic decisions," explained Marina Santa Rosa, coordinator of the LCA Network.
The first module of the course was about contextualizing LCA, with history, definitions, case studies, and some market trends.
The second covered the LCA phases – defining scope and objectives, life cycle inventory analysis, impact assessment and interpretation.
"The group, made up of multi-sector companies, allowed for an exchange of experiences that enriched the work," concludes Marina, who intends to form other groups.
