The seminar, which focused on Corporate Governance and was attended by 300 people, was opened by João Elek, Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance at Petrobras. It featured three speakers: Marina Grossi, President of CEBDS; André Perfeito, Chief Economist at Gradual Investimentos; and Alexandre Di Miceli, Founding Partner of Direzione Consultoria Empresarial. Flávia Oliveira, a columnist for the newspaper O Globo, served as moderator.
The importance of corporate governance was presented by the speakers from different perspectives. The topic has a multiplier effect on corporate culture and has been receiving increased attention, especially in publicly traded companies, due to the benefits it can bring to controlling shareholders, shareholders, customers, and the general public. Therefore, this new scenario poses significant challenges for companies that need to implement the provisions of their organizational guidelines.

"Today's world faces enormous challenges, and we don't have answers for everything in an extremely complex economy. Many changes are underway. No matter how much you adhere to your code of ethics, you need to have an organizational culture that promotes good practices and is constantly reflected in the organization's structure, communicating amicably with all stakeholders," says Marina Grossi of CEBDS.
In this sense, sustainability becomes an inseparable part of corporate governance, requiring integration between business management and sustainable development policies across all company sectors. According to Marina, it's important to clarify what sustainability benefits and what to consider. If this integration isn't done, the company won't have the tools to accurately calculate its strategies. And no form of corporate governance can fill this gap," she concludes.
