Award will give visibility to social projects for female empowerment of companies associated with CEBDS, 70 of the largest business groups in the country
Rio de Janeiro, June 17th- Applications are now open for the CEBDS Women's Leadership Award, designed to recognize actions, women and companies that develop initiatives that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this fourth edition of the award, there will be two categories, both restricted to CEBDS members: Associated Companies, which will award two executives for their initiatives to advance the SDGs, and Women on the Board, which will be given to two companies that have a group of women occupying an internal Board of the company.
Registrations can be made until July 18th and the Awards Ceremony will be held on September 30th, during the Sustainable Congress 2021, which this year will be 100% online. The event will have as its theme Brazil 2050, regenerative, inclusive and resilient businesses and will bring an updated discussion on present and future challenges for a more just, resilient and sustainable society.
A Associated Companies Category will award two executives from our member companies for their initiatives to advance the SDGs. The winners will be chosen by an external jury, composed of notable guests. The CEOs of the winning companies will be invited to attend the award ceremony, symbolizing the importance of the initiative and the sustainability of these actions.
A Category Women on the Board will award two associated companies that are advanced in having women on their Boards, that is, having a group of women occupying an internal Board of the company (e.g. Board of Directors).
The novelty this year is the Category Women on the Board. Companies that aim to empower women by occupying their Boards can register in this category.
The candidates in both categories will be selected by an independent Judging Committee. Each member of the Judging Committee will review the nominations received and award scores to the projects. The decision of the Judging Committee is final. CEBDS will compile all the scores given by the Judging Committee and classify the projects according to the score received. There will be no disclosure of the classification (ranking) of the nominated projects, but only the communication of the winning project. CEBDS will not be part of the decision-making process and will only facilitate the process.
“This Award is an opportunity to recognize the many women leaders who contribute to achieving the SDGs through their initiatives and projects, and the companies that dedicate efforts to promoting gender equality, as well as promoting social projects that currently work towards this purpose,” says CEBDS president Maria Grossi.
