CEBDS workshop on Valuation and Human Rights brings together more than 30 specialists from companies

The Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) held today (08) the 2nd Workshop on the Social and Human Capital Protocol, which dealt with the theme of Valuation and Human Rights. The event brought together more than 30 specialists from companies who discussed the choice of indicators and metrics that represented the results of social actions by the private sector and that could possibly be translated into a monetary scale.

Alcoa, KPMG and Natura brought the companies' experience with the theme to the workshop, the interactive participation of those present was important and very useful. The methodologies used, the prioritization of themes and the difficulties faced were some of the main issues raised during the meeting.

The workshop also had the participation of Pedro Strozemberg, executive secretary of the Institute of Religious Studies (ISER), who brought up the enormous Brazilian challenge regarding the protection of human rights and the responsibility of companies to act actively to promote their respect and to remedy in cases of violation.
