ERM Brasil Ltda. (ERM) and Arcadis were invited by CEBDS to prepare a study on “Reused Water from Effluent Treatment Plants: Opportunities and Risks for the Business Sector”. Based on the objective of CEBDS, ERM and Arcadis understand that the way companies act in water management is a starting point for managing the positive impacts of sustainability and reflect the most priority needs of the associated companies, aligned with the 2050 Vision for water and sanitation: achieving universal access to treated water and sewage, through the responsible use of natural resources for the benefit of people and businesses. This study aims to increase knowledge about the relevance of the theme of water reuse from Effluent Treatment Stations (ETEs) in Brazil.
The study is intended to add essential knowledge for the understanding and applications of water reuse, showing an overview of the current Brazilian regulatory situation, the advances that have been taking place in this regard, some success stories in Brazil and globally.
