The consequences of Covid-19 for the next decade

In 2010, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) launched the Vision 2050, with guidelines for a world in which 9 billion people are able to live well, within planetary boundaries, in the middle of the century. In 2019, the WBCSD decided to revisit the work to evaluate the results 10 years later.
The initiative takes place amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused several impacts and accelerated trends that had already been identified in the work of the WBCSD. The responses to these challenges will define the direction of business in the next decade.
The objective of this publication is to present the vulnerabilities created by Covid-19 and, at the same time, analyze the opportunities for reassessing standards in the way of doing business created by the pandemic.
