CEBDS announces the winners of the 5th Edition of the Women's Leadership Award

Council representing more than 90 companies recognizes women and companies that foster and inspire the formation of new leaders

06/23/2022 – The companies and executives who won the 5th edition of the CEBDS Female Leadership Award were announced yesterday afternoon (22). The award aims to recognize women, companies and initiatives that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The award prioritizes SDG 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by 2030.

NoThis year, the Award had two categories: Associated Companies, which recognized the work of two executives, within companies that are part of the CEBDS member list, for their initiatives to advance the SDGs, and the Women on the Board category, which awarded two advanced associated companies in having a group of women occupying an internal Board of the company.

The winners of the first category were Clara Pacce Pinto Serva, from TozziniFreire, and Milena Rosa, from Schneider Electric. As a partner and head of the Business and Human Rights area, Clara's work encompasses several SDGs, through the improvement of public policies, advising and coordinating civil society organizations (CSOs), as well as advising and building bridges with the business sector. In addition to advising clients pro bono on issues and projects related to human rights, Clara is a member of committees and associations that define ways of coordinating to advance this agenda nationally and internationally.

Milena, in turn, is a global leader in the Service Partner Channel Program for Latin America. In addition, she is enthusiastic about discussing diversity and inclusion and actively participates in debates and lectures on the topic. In 2018, she took on, in parallel with her role and on a voluntary basis, the board of the Schneider Electric Institute in the community and, in 2021, she was appointed Head of Social Responsibility at Schneider Electric Brazil. Milena's work at the Schneider Institute has led to increases in the quantity, quality and impact of projects, which has positioned Brazil's volunteer program as the third best in the world within the company.

The companies that won awards in the Women on the Board category were Lojas Renner and Schneider Electric. At Renner, women represent 25% of the Company's Board of Directors. In addition, the workforce is made up of 64.6% women, while in senior leadership (from senior manager) the percentage is 47%, with women also in traditionally male careers, such as engineering and logistics. There, the goal is to have 55% of senior leadership positions occupied by women by 2030. Schneider Electric Brasil has 31% of its board made up of women and the goal of ensuring that, by 2025, 50% of all new hires, 40% of front-line managers and 30% of senior leadership are women.
