In July, CEBDS opens its agenda of major events leading up to COP 30, in Belém (PA)

Sustainable Congress, which takes place on July 1st and 2nd, completes 22 years as one of the most important spaces for discussions and exchanges on the topic

Four months before COP30, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) will hold its 12th International Congress for Sustainable Development on July 1 and 2, 2025, at the Estação Gasômetro Theater in Belém, Pará. The event, which is free and open to the public, will soon be accepting registrations on the CEBDS website.

Held biannually for 22 years, the Sustainable Congress is part of CEBDS' pioneering strategy to accelerate the transition to a development model based on a carbon-neutral, equitable and nature-positive economy. The event promotes the sharing of knowledge, innovative initiatives and best practices. Always featuring high-level leaders and executives as panelists, the previous edition featured the participation of John Kerry, who held the position of special envoy for climate for the United States government; Peter Bakker, president of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD); André Corrêa do Lago and Ana Toni, executives who currently hold, respectively, the presidency and executive board of COP30.

The 2025 edition is expected to discuss topics such as combating climate change, energy transition, bioeconomy, regenerative agriculture and human rights. In a decisive year for the implementation of the global sustainability agenda, the event reinforces the crucial participation of the private sector in sustainable development through strategies for a greener future.

The Sustainable Congress is sponsored by Equinor, Philip Morris Brasil and Vale.
