Sustentável 2018 will bring together leaders to discuss Brazil's main environmental and social agendas

Held by the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), the International Congress on Sustainable Development (Sustainable 2018) will once again bring together government authorities, business leaders, academics and national and international representatives of civil society to discuss Brazil's commitments and agendas in the environmental and social areas. During the meeting, a document with 10 sustainability proposals for the candidates for President of the Republic will be launched. The event will take place on September 11, at the Santander Theater, in São Paulo.

This is the 9th edition of the congress, which has already brought together over 30,000 people to discuss the social and environmental legacies of companies for the country, and the responsibilities of the government to make them viable. Conceived by the president of CEBDS, Marina Grossi, the congress will be divided into 4 panels: 1. Great Business Dialogue: Agenda for a Sustainable Country; 2. Great Society Dialogue: Cooperation of agendas and the promotion of innovation; 3. What is the influence of Climate Change on access to capital? What kind of society are our businesses building?

– This year, our main purpose will be to shed light on Brazil's main challenges in fulfilling the commitments already made by the country in the area of sustainability, in addition to indicating paths for the transition to a low-carbon economy. Therefore, we will take advantage of this moment to launch the 'CEBDS Agenda for a Sustainable Country: Brazil's Vision for the Future', which brings together 10 proposals that we will forward to the candidates for President of the Republic – reveals Marina Grossi.

Sustentável 2018 is sponsored by Santander, Itaú, Braskem and Shell, Braskem and Shell, Philip Morris, iCS and Instituto Arapyaú. The event will have its carbon emissions offset through the purchase of carbon credits or the planting of trees.
