Preservation of springs on the Xingu River

Natura has supported the ISA Y Ikatu Xingu project for the preservation of the sources of the Xingu River for ten years. The equivalent of 518 hectares of the headwaters of the Xingu River were restored through the initiative with support from the compensation program.

Through carbon offset initiatives, it supports the ISA Y Ikatu Xingu project, which restores the springs of the Xingu River and is now 10 years old. The equivalent of 518 hectares of the headwaters of the Xingu River were restored with support from the compensation program.

At the Carbon Compensation Platform, we seek projects that integrate carbon compensation with other co-beneficiaries, such as water production, protection of springs and springs.

We plan to expand the Carbon Offset Platform, part of the Carbon Neutral Program, recognized by the UN in 2019 with the UN Global Climate Action Award, with the adhesion of more companies and new projects.

The evolution of the platform is measured through the increase in the number of participating companies and projects, with no established goal. There is still no specific assessment of the number of projects that also include a co-beneficiary for Water.
