Brazil is the second largest corn exporter in the world

The Report of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), released on May 9, points Brazil as the world's second largest exporter of corn. Brazil 10 years ago was responsible for 1% of the international market, now, the country represents 25% of product sales.

“It's a new business. Brazil has the possibility of making ethanol from corn and sugarcane. And, in the future, we will be able to make an ethanol that we call second generation, which is biomass ethanol. Therefore, it is a new market that is opening up”, said the general coordinator of Sugarcane and Agroenergy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Cid Caldas.
