Global survey produced by NatureFinance and Fundação Getulio Vargas, with our support and that of 16 other institutions, explores how G20 members are advancing the bioeconomy.
The study, which was launched this Monday, 6, in Brasília, analyzes the challenges and opportunities of this agenda, in addition to highlighting emerging themes that could be the focus of the G20 Bioeconomy Initiative (GIB) in the future. Currently, the estimated value of the global bioeconomy reaches US$4 trillion, according to data from the World BioEconomy Forum. This sector still has considerable potential for expansion, especially in light of the transition towards a world with low carbon emissions and positive impacts on nature. Estimates suggest that this potential could reach the US$30 trillion mark by 2050.
