CEBDS participates in CTIBC meeting

  • Posted in 09/10/2023

CEBDS, represented by the director of Climate, Energy and Sustainable Finance, Viviane Romeiro, was present at the meeting of Low Carbon Industry Technical Committee (CTIBC), on September 5th, in Brasília. Viviane acted as an alternate member, with Marina Freitas Grossi Grossi as the member.

The debate, led by MDIC's Secretary of Green Economy, Decarbonization and Bioindustry, Rodrigo Rollemberg, was very productive, addressing crucial topics, such as the Regulated Carbon Market, Decarbonization and Industry Energy Transition, Organizational Inventories, Bioeconomy and Bioindustry, and the Plan Climate.

On the regulated carbon market agenda, a working group (GT) was created that will be coordinated by the MDIC, with co-leadership by CEBDS and FIESP. We are happy to be part of this initiative and look forward to sharing more details soon.

The CTIBC plays a fundamental role in promoting coordination between federal government bodies and public and private entities to implement, monitor and review public policies, initiatives and projects that encourage the transition to a low-carbon economy in the Brazilian industrial sector. This initiative gains even more relevance based on Decree no. 11,547, of June 5, 2023, which reactivated the Committee.
