CEBDS participates in a seminar on green economic recovery

On May 30, CEBDS' Director of Nature and Society, Juliana Lopes, participated in the Seminar "Green Economic Recovery - Learning to Build the Brazilian Agenda", held by Insper, the Democracy and Sustainability Institute, the platform Why ? – Economês in good Portuguese and the Arq.Futuro Laboratory.

Juliana participated in the panel “Agriculture, industry, commerce and the financial system: incentives for a low-carbon economy”, with Luciana Costa, director of Infrastructure, Energy Transition and Climate Change at BNDES, Ricardo Young, president of IDS – Instituto Democracia e Sustentabilidade and which was mediated by Priscila Claro, professor and leader of the Sustainability Center at Insper.

The event also had the participation of Marina Silva, Minister of State for the Environment and Climate Change of Brazil, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, Secretary of Climate, Energy and Environment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, João Paulo Capobianco, Secretary Executive of the Ministry of the Environment and Sergio Leitão, executive director of Instituto Escolhas.

On the occasion, the report “Green Economic Recovery: Inspirations for the Brazilian Debate” was also launched, whose proposal is to reflect on how the country can prepare a recovery plan for a low-carbon economy that considers economic development, improving socioeconomic indicators, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change.
