CEBDS has been working hard to build sustainable business solutions through its Council of Leaders, therefore the present study seeks to highlight the benefits of using rail freight transport in terms not only of finance, but, above all, of the environment and society.
Thus, technical-economic aspects of investments in infrastructure and the operation of electric railways were discussed in the study, in addition to the reduction of local pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the expansion of access to energy for populations living in distant regions and rural areas.
