COP-16
Held in Cali, Colombia, October 21st to November 1st. This is the first COP after the establishment of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, in 2022.
Focused exclusively on the preservation of biological diversity, the 2024 edition is expected to be the largest to date, with over 15,000 people taking part. This year, the meeting will focus on the joint commitment made by member countries to conserve 30% of the planet's soils and oceans by 2030, financing for least developed countries, monitoring the progress of actions and exchanges between countries.
COP 16 has as its main theme “peace with nature” and will have the participation of more than 190 countries, organized civil society, companies, academia, different actors who will debate the indicators and means of implementation that will make up the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
During the Conference, the 11th meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP 11) and the 5th meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access and benefit-sharing (COP-MOP 5) will also be held.

We will represent the business sector of one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, Brazil, taking with us 42 Brazilian companies associated with the CEBDS.
Over the last four years we have been actively involved in building the Global Biodiversity Framework. We observed growth in the engagement of our associates in this agenda, in particular, with high participation in the technical debates we have held on the internalization of the framework in the country (EPANB) and training on measuring the net impact on biodiversity.
Participation in COP 16 is another of our actions aimed at mobilize the business sector about the urgency of taking effective actions to halt and reverse the loss of biodiversity.
