Communiqué from the Brazilian Business Sector on the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (EPANB) and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Agreement

Seeking to halt and reverse the current scenario of loss of biodiversity and lead the planet to a life in harmony with nature, during COP15, in December 2022, the Global Agreement for Biodiversity Kunming-Montreal (GBF) was signed , comprising four long-term goals for 2050 and 23 action targets for 2030.

The countries that signed the document must create their national goals for the implementation of the new agreement. In Brazil, the targets will be elaborated through the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity (EPANB).

CEBDS, through its Thematic Chamber of Biodiversity and Biotechnology, CTBio, has been actively acting over the last three years supporting the negotiations of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the construction of the new framework, engaging the Brazilian business sector and society in this process, aiming to promote the construction of an ambitious and transformative agreement focused on generating a net positive impact on biodiversity.
