Disclosure of monitoring values and effluent generation

Braskem reports annually in a transparent manner not only indices and values for monitoring parameters of water consumption and effluent generation, but also a series of projects and initiatives that expand each year. Thus, the company is at a high level of water resource management, as recognized by CDP Water.

The Annual Report is a great challenge, and within it, Braskem has been very successful in keeping water as one of the main focuses of materiality. Reported annually in a transparent manner are not only indices and values for monitoring parameters of water consumption and effluent generation, but also a series of projects and initiatives that expand each year. Thus, the company is at a high level of water resource management, as recognized by CDP Water.

Braskem is one of the 12 companies to reach leadership level A in CDP Water in 2017, and its goal is to maintain this level. This level recognizes the good data management and monitoring system, provided by a third party, whose presentation is summarized in the Annual Report. The document includes data on meeting targets, investments and general data on consumption and effluents, among others.

Braskem also publishes on its website information on the achievement of the company's Macro Goal for Water Efficiency, which is monitored by the Board of Directors. The company was also named the best on water among global chemical companies by CDP's Catalyst for Change 2017 report.

The publication and development of the Sustainability Report is a fixed initiative adopted by the company, the main goal of this project is to carry out the planned annual publications in a clear and transparent manner. In this way, its planning is established from the production stages defined by the sector responsible for making the document and for monitoring the economic, social and, mainly, environmental actions carried out by the group in the sectors involved throughout the current year.

The Sustainability Report is based on the 10 Sustainable Development Guidelines. The evaluation format consists, therefore, in the analysis of compliance with the requirements demanded by the Guidelines.
