With the motto 'Designing a Sustainable Future at COP30 – Brazil's Leadership in the G20 and Beyond', we brought together government and business leaders in a round of dialogue held by CEBDS and the We Mean Business Coalition at COP28. The objective was to discuss Brazil's priorities during its G20 presidency and align strategies with the COP30 agenda.
Brazil's leadership in the bioeconomy positions us as a catalyst for global climate and sustainability initiatives, and collaboration from the business community is essential to accelerate the global transition to sustainable pathways.
During the meeting, we discussed topics such as BNDES's collaboration in Pará, the definition of types of bioeconomy and the importance of sociobiodiversity. We also discussed the creation of a bioeconomy working group, compliance with deforestation regulations and the urgency of effective actions for carbon removal.
The role of the private sector in unlocking investments, generating resources, capital and exploring carbon credits was also highlighted.
Participated in the panel Marina Freitas Grossi, our President, María Mendiluce, CEO of the We Mean Business Coalition, Gonzalo Muñoz Abogabir, Global Ambassador of High-Level Climate Champions and Nabil Kadri, BNDES Environmental Superintendent.
