CEBDS in the Federal Senate - Brazilian Emissions Reduction Market

  • Posted in 25/05/2023

Our director of Climate and Energy and Sustainable Finance, Viviane Romeiro, was this Thursday (25/05), at the Federal Senate, in Brasília, at the Public Hearing to discuss PL 412/2022, which provides for the regulation of the Brazilian Market Emission Reduction Plan (MBRE).

On the occasion, Viviane spoke about the urgency and importance of the topic, the main CEBDS guidelines for the MBRE and the need for Brazil to have a robust regulated carbon market, with legal security and governance, for the advancement of the business sector in the transition to a low carbon economy.

Participating in these discussions is one of the priorities of CEBDS and this invitation only reinforces that we are on the right path towards the elaboration of a regulatory framework for the Brazilian market of emission reductions.
