CEBDS promotes Workshop 'Brazil, Climate Power: Challenges and Solutions', with Launch of Study on the Net Zero Journey

  • Posted in 28/06/2023

On June 27, CEBDS held the workshop "Brazil, a Climate Power: Challenges and Solutions," bringing together experts and strategic partners to discuss climate policies and sustainability in Brazil. The event also saw the launch of the study "Challenges of the Brazilian Business Sector on the Net Zero Journey," conducted by CEBDS and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

During the workshop, the importance of recognizing the country's unique reality was highlighted, considering the impacts of deforestation and land use. The debate also highlighted the progress made by Brazilian companies in setting emission reduction targets.

In addition, the challenges and solutions related to carbon emissions in the country were discussed, highlighting the need for a collaborative dialogue between the government, the private sector and civil society to strengthen the regulatory framework for climate governance.

Emphasis was also placed on the importance of mobilizing the value chain, implementing initiatives to address energy shortages, and communicating and reporting climate action. The workshop was an initiative of CT Clima and Plataforma Net Zero.

We would like to thank the panelists Ana Toni, Rodrigo Agostinho, Arthur Ramos, Hugo Barreto, Natalia Dias and the moderation of Marina Freitas Grossi.
