CEBDS and 52 large associated companies sign a letter of urgency to create a regulated carbon market

Fifty-two companies associated with CEBDS signed the “Position of the Brazilian Business Sector for the Urgency of the Creation of a Regulated Carbon Market in Brazil”, a document that defends the speed and simplification of the bill that deals with the regulated Brazilian carbon market.

Last week, Marina Freitas Grossi, President CEBDS, delivered to Senator Leila Barros (rapporteur of the PL proposal) the document that is fundamental for the advancement of environmental policies in the country.

The delivery, combined with Environment Week, highlights the importance and urgency of the issues agreed in the document.

The creation of a regulated carbon market is seen by the Brazilian business sector as an essential measure to promote sustainability, encourage responsible business practices and ensure that Brazil meets its international commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The document prepared by CEBDS highlights the economic and environmental benefits of a well-structured carbon market, pointing out that regulation can attract investments, stimulate technological innovation and increase the competitiveness of Brazilian companies on the global stage.
